John William Fisher, 75, of Lititz, PA, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. Born in Danville, PA, he was the son of the late Leo Fisher, Sr. and Mary Fisher.

John graduated from Shamokin High School. Soon after, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served faithfully until he was forced to retire due to an event that left him legally disabled at only 22 years old. Following his retirement, he attended Elizabethtown College before becoming a lobbyist and advocate for Disabled American Veterans working out of Philadelphia. He was a strong supporter of programs that improved the lives of those living with a disability. His role as a proud veteran and advocate for disabled Americans meant the world to him. John's independence was greatly enhanced over the years by two service dogs, Indy and Brogan. They were his best buddies and went on many adventures together. John also had a passion for old cars, attending many shows and club events. He also was a member of the Keystone Miniature Model Car Club for which he hosted for several years. John could definitely be described as very independent, sometimes to a fault. He liked traveling and following his two favorite footballs teams, the Steelers and Eagles.

John is survived by his 2 siblings: Leo Fisher, Jr. and Patricia A. Clifford; a nephew Raymond Clifford (Bonnie Hockenbury), and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim Fisher and sister Joanne M. Fisher.

A time for friends and family to gather will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 10-11 AM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, with a service to begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
