John C. Ferreira, 49, of Reinholds, PA, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 27, 2015 after a courageous battle with ALS for eight years. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he was the husband of Deborah A. Crawford Ferreira and they celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on October 15th. He was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Carreiro Ferreira. John worked as a Banker for many years at Royal Bank of Canada and retired to be a stay at home Dad for their daughter, Julia. He enjoyed many things including cooking, fishing, golfing, woodworking, boating on the Susquehanna, music of all types, traveling, and with his artistic and creative spirit, he will be remembered for spending time with his family and friends, but most of all he was a loving husband and father and treasured the time teaching things to his daughter. He was a member of the Church of St. Benedict, Mohnton, PA. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his brother, Louis Ferreira and his sister, Maria DaSilva, both of Toronto, Canada, numerous nephews, great nephews, nieces, and great nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Antonio Ferreira. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial from the Church of St. Benedict, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540 on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Jean-Louis Plouffe and Fr. Phil F. Rodgers Celebrants. The family will receive friends from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. The family will also receive friends at the Church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The ALS Association, attn: John's Crew of Hope, the ALS walk in Hershey, PA, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
