John R. Benson, 89, of Willow Street, PA, and formerly of Baltimore, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was the husband of Doris Wright Benson. Born in Oakland, California, he was the son of the late George A. and Emma Jenkins Benson. John worked for 35 years for Baltimore Gas & Electric Company, retiring as a supervisor in 1995. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, serving during World War II. He was a kind-hearted man, always thinking of others before himself. He enjoyed the outdoors and all sports, particularly golf. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his brother, Jack Benson.. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Scott. Private services were held in Willow Street, PA.
