Obituary

Johanna E. "Hanny" Myers, 90, formerly of N. Ann St, Lancaster passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at LGH. Born in Frankfurt, Germany she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Elisabeth "Muddi" (Kohler) Kempf. She was married to the late Robert C. "Peanut" Myers who passed away in 2006. Johanna came to the U.S. in 1956 aboard the SS United States, which was the first passenger liner to cross the Atlantic and became a U.S citizen in 1961. Before coming to America, she was a furrier in Germany and upon arriving to the states became the head seamstress and buyer at the former Logans & Casual Corner. While employed there she made many friends and they would meet once a month for the past 40 years. Johanna enjoyed duck pin bowling at the Moose Hall, where she met her husband and received many awards. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City, board games, card games, crossword puzzles, loved animals and was an honorary member of the Lancaster Liederkranz. She is survived by a nephew, Kenneth R. Flosser, companion of Cynthia Sharpe, of Millersville, and a niece, Linda L. Galligan, wife of Robert C., of Lancaster. Also surviving are 3 grandnephews, one grandniece. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marga and Tante and an uncle, John Kohler. A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, 435 Manor Ave., Millersville, PA 17551
