JoAnne Schreder Kubala, 81, of Lancaster, PA, died unexpectedly with her daughter and daughter-in-law by her side at Lancaster General Hospital on Thursday, August 24, 2017, the day before her 82nd birthday. She was the wife of Andrew G. Kubala, with whom she celebrated seven years of marriage this past May. She had been married to James O. Schreder (d.2003) for 48 years. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Michael and Josephine Wittensoldner, and the older sister of Carolyn (d.2017) married to James Buchanan of Lancaster. JoAnne worked for Bell Telephone, RCA, and St. Anne's Retirement Village. She was a 1953 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and earned a BA in Psychology from Millersville University in 1999. JoAnne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She taught Pre Cana courses at St. Joseph Hospital and was a team facilitator with World Wide Marriage Encounters. She volunteered with the American Heart Assn. and Hospice of Lancaster County. JoAnne enjoyed reading and was always up for a good movie or new TV series. One of her favorite things was enjoying meals out with her family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Nancy Schreder married to Robert Guhl, Jr. of Fort Myers, FL, Geraldine married to Richard Mills of Thompsontown, PA, James Schreder of Lansdale, PA, and David married to Beth Schreder of Lancaster; four grandchildren: Josephine, Allison, Zachary, and Abigail; great-grandson Liam; four step-daughters: Pamela married to Gregory Oleska of Lancaster, Amy married to Bernard Danilowicz of Middletown, PA, Jennifer married to David Snoberger, Jr. of Willow Street, and Deborah married to Timothy Kerschner of Lititz; ten step-grandchildren, and one step- great- grandson. Friends will be received on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA from 12:30-1:30PM, with the Memorial Service to follow. Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
