Joanne M. Boak, 73, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 31, 2016. She was the wife of the late Kenneth G. Boak, Sr., who passed away in 1996. Born in Lancaster, she was daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary C. Markey Schlegelmilch. Joanne had worked for Lancaster Press Inc. for 43 years, serving as asst. bindery supervisor. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, where she taught 6th grade Sunday School. She was also involved with Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and had been a team mom for football and baseball teams for many years. Joanne loved her boxer, Twlia. She is survived by her children: Catherine A. Chapis wife of John A. Chapis of Lititz, Susan M. Stapleton Lititz, and Kenneth G. Boak Jr husband of Vera A. Boak Lititz; 7 grandchildren: Robyn L. Brown, Alexander J. Chapis, Adam C. Chapis, Valerie L. Stapleton, Anthony J. Boak, Amanda N. Boak, Kendra L. Stapleton, and 1 great grandchild-Reagan A. Chapis. She is also survived by her sister, Adeline Eggensperger of Lancaster and her brother, Charles F. Schlegelmilch of Mountville. Joanne's family would like to thank the nursing staff at Moravian Manor for their excellent care provided to Joanne. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA from 6-8PM, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 745PM. Friends may call again on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave, Lititz, PA from 10-11AM, with the Mass to follow at 11AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Joanne's memory to PA Boxer Rescue at paboxers.com.
