Joann  A. (Sullenberger) Geiger, 79, of Lancaster, passed away at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy on Monday, December 8, 2008. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harold T. and Aleta M. (Grabil) Sullenberger. Joann was married to Bernard E. Geiger who passed away on May 26, 2000.

Mrs. Geiger was a Registered Nurse. She was employed as a substitute nurse for Lancaster City Schools and then as head nurse for Conestoga View Nursing Home where she retired in 1992. She was a member of AARP, Lancaster Recreation Happy Hours, St. Anthony's Legion of Mary and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Surviving are her four daughters, Susan C, wife of Tye Wilson of Millersville, Judith A, wife of Michael Chura of Willow Street, Donna J Aponte of Lancaster, Christine M, wife of Jeffrey Corcoran of Lancaster, three sons, Michael D Geiger Sr, husband of Mary of Lancaster, John E. Geiger, husband of Michele of Lancaster, Leo V Geiger of Lancaster, fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister, Gloria Smith of Mountville, three brothers, Robert C Sullenberger, husband of Lois, of Vienna Fl, Donald Sullenberger, husband of Faye, of Wrightsville, Ernest Sullenberger, husband of Ruth Ann, of East Petersburg, several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr  Funeral Home and Chapel Inc 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, 17543, 560-5100, on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 7-9 PM and Friday, December 12, 2008 from 8-9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 501 East Orange St, Lancaster, PA, 17602, on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 10AM with Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant.
