JoAnn M Diffendall, 93, of Lancaster County, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026. Born in Manor Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles Gerald Schrite and Anna Mary Mann. She was married to Wendall Diffendall for 25 years until his passing in 1979.

JoAnn was a graduate of Manor Millersville High School and later the Lancaster General School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for almost 50 years including private duty nursing and most recently at Willow Valley. JoAnn enjoyed gardening, quilting, needlepointing, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and reading. She was a 60+ year member of Central Manor Church.

JoAnn is survived by 2 children: James Diffendall and Barbara Arters (Vince); 5 grandchildren: Jess McKain, Gretchen Diffendall, Erika Diffendall (Luke McClung), Anne Marie Arters (Noah Hake), and Anthony Arters; former daughter-in-law Mary Jo Diffendall, and son-in-law Don McKain. She was predeceased by her daughter Wendy Jo Diffendall and grandson Joshua McKain.
