JoAnn L. Book, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Mauro) and Alessandro DiBattista. She was the loving wife of the late Elwood Book.

JoAnn spent more than 20 years working at Donnelley and retired from her mailroom job at Millersville University. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

JoAnn was known for her vibrant spirit and the hobbies she loved most. She enjoyed gambling—especially the slot machines—and cherished time spent cooking traditional Italian dishes. Her Christmas Eve dinner and her famous spaghetti were treasured family traditions. JoAnn also loved camping and spending time at Elkview Shores for many years.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kari Charles and Anthony Fisher; and her great-grandchildren, Sklee Charles, Kierra Fisher, Gionna Gronus, Amya Gronus, Jerame Gronus, Jr., and Karli-Jo Gronus. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Robert Dickel, Jr., Stephanie Dickel, and Gina Meringer, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Joseph Charles Jr. and daughter Sharon Fisher, her sisters: Camille Theis and Sandra Resh as well as her nephew Troy King.

Interment will take place at 11 AM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
