Joan C. Sheffer, 88, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, at Luther Acres.  Born in Lancaster, Joan was the daughter of the late Edward and Etta (Keeler) Conroy.

Joan was employed as a paralegal for Sherman and Walton Inc. for 25 years.  She was previously employed as a secretary by Paul Murray Insurance Company.

Joan was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed gardening and reading.

Surviving Joan is her brother James F. Conroy, husband of Florence, of Lancaster, a nephew, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service Monday, January 12, 2009 at 11 AM in the St. Peter Chapel of Grace Lutheran Church, 517 N. Queen St., Lancaster, PA.  Officiating will be Rev. Stephen Verkouw.   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joan's memory to Grace Lutheran Church.  Arrangements by Charles F.
