Obituary

Joan S. Pappas, 83, formerly of Lancaster, passed away at Susquehanna Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Columbia on Thursday, June 6, 2019. She was born in Haverhill, MA to the late Peter and Thesaloniki (Douzenis) Eliopulos. Joan's husband John Pappas died in 2007.

A homemaker, Joan loved to play the piano and organ, and she taught piano earlier in life. She loved classical music and poetry. A devout Greek Orthodox, Joan was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and the Daughters of Penelope.

Joan is survived by her son James Pappas, husband of Alex Clark of Delray Beach, FL, son-in-law William H. Dinkel of Lancaster and her three grandchildren, Marina Pappas Barbosa, wife of Bruno of Houston, TX, and McElla Pappas and Andreas Pappas both of San Francisco.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter Julie Ann Dinkel December 29, 2018, and her siblings Cynthia and Pericles Eliopulos.

Private services and burial in Conestoga Memorial Park will take place at the convenience of the Pappas family. Please omit flowers.
