Joan M. O'Shea, 85, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at St. Anne's Retirement Village.

She was the wife of the late Richard F. O'Shea, who passed away in 1997. Born in Brownville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bernard D. and Amelia M. Gosier McDermott.

Joan had been a homemaker, and in years past, she had worked at Gimbels and Pomeroys Department Stores.

She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

Joan enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and bowling. She was a 1948 graduate of Syracuse University.

She is survived by her two sons: Kevin R. married to Cathleen B. O'Shea of Bellevue, WA, and Brian J. married to Donna M. O'Shea of Linwood, NJ; her two daughters Sally J. O'Shea of Lancaster and Ann M. married to William Hammen of York, PA; and by her 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard E. McDermott.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 10-11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM.
