Joan M. Nixdorf, 77, of Landis Homes, formerly of Lancaster passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at LGH. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Mary T. (Dolan) Donohue. She was the loving wife of Terry L. Nixdorf with whom she shared over 57 years of marriage.
She was a 1964 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. Joan worked in accounting and the human resources department for Lawn Equipment Parts Co in Marietta, PA, for over 27 years.
Joan was member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Lititz.
She loved going on cruises with her husband, dining out with friends and family, crocheting, reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Eickholz wife of Andrew of Rohrerstown, PA; son, Robert C. Nixdorf II husband of Stefanie of Redwood City, CA; six grandchildren, Annaliese, Alex, Joanna, Drew, Markus, and Carsten; brother, Thomas B. Donohue husband of Debbie of Shreveport, LA and sister in law, Kay Stank of Lancaster; nieces and nephews, Suzanne Hain wife of Charles, John Pennington Jr. husband of Diane, Mark Pennington, Douglas Donohue, Janeen Koenig wife of Bill, Eric Stankiewicz husband of Christy and numerous cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Veronica Wagner and stepmother, Gladys Donohue.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Petersburg Rd, Lititz, PA. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Family and friends will be received from 10-11:30AM at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Building Fund at the above address or Landis Homes Caring Fund, 1001 E. Oregon Rd, Lititz, PA 17543.
