Joan Frances Matthews, 100, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Theresa (Voci) Spadea. She was married to Ray S. Matthews prior to his passing in 1990.

Joan attended St. Mary's High School. She worked for ACME Markets in the meat wrapping department for over 25 years. Joan was known to love crocheting, tinkering around her home, and especially animals. In her younger years, Joan and Ray enjoyed traveling and camping.

Joan is survived by her devoted daughter, Lorraine C. Matthews, as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and 10 siblings.
