June 11, 1926 – November 10, 2021
Joan E. Carosielli, 95, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at her Lancaster residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late W. E. and Josephine (Boyle) Pierpont, and the last of her immediate family.
She worked as a Customer Service Associate for Kemps (Penn Dairies) for 21 years before retiring in 1991. Joan was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. Her life was centered around her faith, family, and friends. She humbly provided support to new parishioners through participation in the RCIA and Baptism Committee. She was also active in many community organizations, including volunteering with the Literacy Council of Lancaster and Meals on Wheels.
Surviving Joan are her daughter Sharon, wife of Herbert Rife, Sewell, NJ, Ann Larrabee, wife of Michael Jr., Bethlehem, PA; six grandchildren, Marc Carosielli, Jennifer, wife of John Simeone, Brian Carosielli, Todd Carosielli, husband of Nicole, Julie Rife-Freese, wife of Clayton Freese, and Alyson, wife of Jeffrey Hebert; as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Sr.; two sons, Michael Jr., and Richard Carosielli; and her siblings, Eleanor Suydam, W.E. Pierpont, III, Richard Pierpont and John B. Pierpont.
A viewing will take place 10 to 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with The Fr. Matthew C. Morelli as Celebrant on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. Graveside services will take place at 11 AM on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown, CT.
