Jesus M. Cristobal Mateo, 79, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, October 30, 2020. Born in Barahona, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Alejandro Mendieta and Canela Mateo.

Jesus was a skilled machine operator and worked at Grimel Corporation for over 14 years until his retirement. Jesus was a devoted Yankees fan and talented cook. He loved to dance and was a gifted poet. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family.

Jesus is survived by his children: Jose Manuel. Miguel de Jesus, Elias Rafael, Jose Antonio, Julio Cosar, Manuel Enrique and Canelo; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Aleyandrina Garcia of Lancaster, Juan R. Mateo of Dominican Republic and additional Mendieta family. He was preceded in death by his siblings Hugo and Areadio.

Friends and family will be received from 6-8PM on Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. A Funeral Service will be held at 8PM. Interment will be in Cristo Redentor Cemetery, Dominican Republic.
