Obituary

Dr. Rev. Jerry R. Young, 71, of Tucson, AZ., formerly of Manheim, went home to be with his Savior on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Casa De La Luz Hospice Center, AZ. Born in Goshen, IN., he was the son of Edith (Lantz) Young and the late James Young. Jerry was the husband of Loreen (Summers) Young with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage this past June 9 th .

Dr. Young was the Senior Pastor at Lititz Grace Brethren Church for 33 years.   He also served as a Chaplain in the US Army Reserves for 33 years and achieved the rank of Colonel.  Dr Young devoted his life to the faithful service of the Lord and to his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children; Jared Young husband of Allison of Elizabethtown, Jason Young husband of Wendy of King of Prussia, Justin Young husband of Kati of Elizabethtown, and Janae Goodwyn wife of Eric of Hemet, CA. 6 grandchildren:  Brendan, Lauren, Kara & Jacob Young and Chase & Brianna Goodwyn.  Dr. Young is also survived by 1 brother 3 sisters and is preceded in death by a brother.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Grace Brethren Church of Lititz 501 W. Lincoln Ave. Lititz PA 17543 at 3 p.m. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Church from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Interment will be private at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Dr. Young's memory to Morningstar & Lititz Christian School, 501 W. Lincoln Ave, Lititz, PA  17543.
