Jere A. Styer, 76, of Lititz, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, Jere was the son of the late Jerome and Ethel (Creamer) Styer. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Tyson) Styer. A Vietnam War veteran, Jere served 9 years in the Army with tours in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge from the service, Jere moved to Washington DC and worked for the Department of State and the Federal Aviation Administration where he retired in 1993 as a Management Analyst. In addition to his wife, Patricia, Jere is also survived by a sister, June Sterling of Lancaster, and a brother, Harold Styer, also of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Styer and sisters, Jacqueline Hackman, Gloria Resch, Yvonne Walton, and Marian Hackman. A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM, on Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with the Rev. Irvin Straw officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jere's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
