Jere L. Obetz, 58, of Emerson Ct., Lancaster, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late S. Kenneth and Mabel A. Witwer Obetz. He celebrated eleven years of marriage on September 15 ^th to Barbara Cramer Obetz.

Jere was the Chief Financial Officer for Bank of Lancaster County for over 30 years. He enjoyed reading, genealogy, traveling, learning about the Civil War, spending time with his family, and his beloved dog, Casey.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons: Matthew E. Obetz, fiancé of Melissa Rarig, of Lancaster, and Gregory C. Obetz, of Mount Joy; and a brother, Jay D. Obetz, husband of Nancy, of Lancaster.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
