Jere Buckwalter, 82, of Lititz, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Quay) Buckwalter.

Jere worked for Mountville Wallpaper and retired from York Wallpaper.  He enjoyed watching football, boating, fishing and going to the family's summer home in Rehoboth Beach, DE.  Jere enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his dog, Gizmo.

Jere is survived by a daughter, Debra Bergman; a son, Jere Buckwalter, husband of Pamela; 4 brothers: Jack Buckwalter, Bob Buckwalter, Don Buckwalter and Roy Eberle, Jr.; and 2 sisters: Joyce Hart and Sara Ritter; 5 grandchildren: Chad, Jennifer and Ashley Buckwalter and Shea and Brad Bergman; and 1 great-grandchild, Alexis A. Martin.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with Pastor Dana Statler officiating.  A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 and again on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Witness Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jere's memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.  To send the family online condolences, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.
