IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey C.
Hawkins
August 25, 1954 – March 14, 2022
Jeffrey C. Hawkins, 67, passed away at his Lancaster residence on Monday, March 14, 2022. Jeff was born in Lancaster, the son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth J. (Snow) Hawkins.
Jeff graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School, where he was a great basketball player. He played on the 1972-1973 team that beat Cocalico to win the first of Coach Pete Horn's 13 Lancaster-Lebanon League Championships, and he was considered to be one of Coach Horn's top five best players. He continued to follow and cheer for McCaskey sports over the years.
He served in the US Army with the 130th Medical Station Hospital as a biomedical Equipment Specialist with the rank Private First Class. After the Army Jeff did custodial work for several local churches. He had a wacky sense of humor, and he loved history.
Surviving Jeff are his daughter, Carisa M. Hawkins, and her children, Donovan C. Garcia and Cameron G. Garcia of Lancaster; his sisters, Trina C. Autry of Chicago, and Jocelyn Hawkins McKinney, wife of George McKinney of Lancaster; and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Brent A Hawkins, and his sister, Leslie M. Hawkins Harrison.
