Obituary

Jeanne L. Connor, 81, of Lititz, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, August 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born in New Providence, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth (Groff) and Walter Fisher McVey. She was a graduate of Solanco High School. Jeanne retired as a switchboard operator for AT&T in 1990 after 36 years of service, and then continued to work at Lancaster General Hospital until 1996. She enjoyed her Sunday shopping excursions and working on puzzles. She loved to travel throughout the country, abroad, cruising the Caribbean and especially enjoyed her yearly visits to the Southwest. Jeanne was a member of the Bell of PA Telephone Pioneers and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jeanne will be remembered for her quiet strength and impeccable appearance. Jeanne is survived by her children: Frank Connor II, of East Petersburg, Renee Connor (John Potter) of Duncannon, and Shane Connor of Peach Bottom. Surviving her are three siblings: Marian Boone of Lancaster, Donald E. McVey (Kathy) of Quarryville, and Harold M. McVey of New Providence as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her five siblings: Walter McVey, Jr., L. Robert McVey, R. Kenneth McVey, Janet E. White and Nancy S. Scott. A viewing will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jeanne's memory to Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, 2102 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
