Jean E. Spoo passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 91.
Born in West Chester, PA on March 21, 1932, she was the daughter of Jonathan Tompkins and Elmira H. Favinger Tompkins. After graduating from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1950, she was married to the late Charles Spoo, Jr for 65 years.
Jean was an active member of Grace Church of Lancaster, and a 25-year employee of K-D Tools. She and Charlie enjoyed going to their cabins in Clearfield and Clinton counties with their family.
Surviving her are daughter, Sandy Duncan, widow of George Duncan, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, the Reverend Jonathan Tompkins, Jr., and a sister, Grace Hatton, both of Lancaster.
She was preceded in her death by her daughter, Charlene Quintavalla, her twin sister, Joan Buohl, and siblings Collette Travis, Daniel D. Tompkins, and Linda Bachman.
Services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home at 414 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 10:00 am. The viewing will be held 1 hour preceding the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church of Lancaster, at 911 Rohrerstown Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601.
