Jean Shirley Sims (Brooks), 88, of Lititz, died peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Gardens of Lititz Nursing Home. She was born in Pequea Township to the late Leon Brooks Sr. and Margaret (Hench) Hearn. Jean was a loving and devoted mother to her 4 sons and will be sorely missed. Jean retired from Acme Markets having worked for many years in their deli and meat departments. She enjoyed gardening and later in life, enjoyed backyard bird feeding and bird watching. She also enjoyed watching football. Jean is survived by her 4 sons: Dale Shaub (Donata) of Millersville, Larry Shaub of Lancaster, Scott Reed of Lancaster and Robert Reed (Wanda Lee) of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Sims, her 2 brothers: Leon Books, Jr. and Robert (Bud) Hartman and her beloved Dachshund, Ginger. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 12PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Friends and family will be received from 11AM – 12PM. Interment will follow at Riverview Burial Park.
