Jay Paul Walton, 56, of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2011. He was born in Ephrata and was the son of Edna (Sensenig) Walton, of Lititz and the late Paul Andrew Walton.
Jay is survived by his wife of 27 years, Leslie (Castañeda) Walton. They were married on July 27, 1984.
Jay served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany.
He was a member of The Worship Center, Leola, PA since 1984 and served his church in many capacities such as, volunteering in children's ministries, helping as a former usher, and assisting with community service projects.
Jay was a 1974 Manheim Township graduate. Jay was employed at High Associates in the Grounds Maintenance department for the past fifteen years. He participated in The Continuing Education Program at Longwood Gardens, acquiring Certificates of Merit in Ornamental Plants, Series I and II. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing with his son, visiting coffee shops and bookstores with his daughter, spending time with his family, and reading his Bible.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Andrew Jay Walton, husband of Chandra, of Lititz, a daughter, Aimée Ruth Walton, of Lititz, a granddaughter, Camille Elise Walton, of Lititz, a brother, Dane Walton, husband of Marie, of Leola, three sisters, Lynn Chryst, wife of Richard, of CO, Deborah Stoltzfus, of Christiana, and Melanie Maldonado, wife of David, of Holtwood.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2pm at the Worship Center at 2384 New Holland Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601 with Pastor Tim Keller officiating. A viewing will be held on Saturday in the Chapel of the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory at 3110 Lititz Pike from 4-7pm. There will be no public viewing on Sunday prior to the service. Interment will be in Millport Union Cemetery in Rothsville, PA with Military Honors rendered by the Red Rose Honor Guard and Vet-21 Salute Honor Guard.
