Jay Kenneth Horst, 59, of Lititz, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, after a lengthy illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Kenneth and Lorraine (Hershey) Horst of Manheim. Jay was a long time member of the Elstonville Sportsman's Association and a member of Dela-Ches. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed kayaking and watching hockey. His favorite teams were the Capitals and Hershey Bears. Jay was graduate of Manheim Central High School. After school he began working at New Holland where he was a welder and designed multiple patents. He is survived by his daughter, Monica Horst and her fiancé Justin Marinkov of Newmanstown; a sister, Beverly Cura of New Philadelphia, PA; and his beloved Husky, Tioga. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Durlach & Mt. Airy Fire Co., 880 Durlach Rd., Stevens. Kindly omit flowers.
