Jay Robert Herr, 81, of Millersville, entered into rest on Thursday, November 9 ^th , 2006.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John M. and Helen Foultz Herr.  He was married to the late Rose M. Tannerbauer Herr.

A machinist he worked for thirty-seven years at Armstrong Research and Development.

An avid woodcarver, he was a member of the Lancaster County Woodcarvers.

During WWII, he served in the US Air force as a Major.

He is survived by three sons, Robert J. married to Janet Herr of Grantville; Steven M. married to Peggy Herr of Pequea; Jeffrey L. married to Melanie Herr of Millersville; a daughter, Sharon A. married to Jeffrey Graver of Mountville; seven grandchildren; a brother, Clifford married to Vi Herr of Willow Street; and a sister, Marilyn Bagnoli of Millersville.  A brother, John Herr and a sister, Phyllis Hostetter, preceded him in death.

The funeral service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 441 N. George St., Millersville, Pa on Tuesday at 11a.m.  Interment will be in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jay's memory to the Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, Pa 17604-4125.
