Jay M. Bock, 68, of Lititz, PA passed away after a long battle with a heart disease on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Born in Shippensburg, PA he was the son of the late Mervin and Francis (Gury) Bock.
Jay was the husband of Dianne (Watson) Bock with whom he spent 20 years.
Jay was a graduate of Shippensburg University receiving his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education. Jay was a Teacher of Business at Harrisburg City Schools.
He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force.
He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, the Teachers Union, and the Lancaster Corvette Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, and bird watching.
Surviving in addition to his wife Dianne is a son, Andrew J. Bock husband of Bridgett Jochum of Waldorf, MD, 2 step-children, Deborah Whaley Handshew, wife of Michael of Elizabethtown, and David T. Whaley, husband of Julie Camens-Whaley of Landisville. 5 grandchildren who were well loved by their Poppa Jay, Jessica, Rachel, Megan, Keegan, and Aubrey, 3 sisters; Bonnie Nace, of Shippensburg, Carol Peters, of Chambersburg, and Barbara Roberts, of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth M. Bock who passed away in 1988.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 4 pm at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pk. Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 6-8 pm and again on Saturday from 3-4 pm. Military Honors will be rendered by the Red Rose Honor Guard following the Service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jay's memory to the American Heart Association Lancaster Chapter 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
