Janis L. King, 75, of Newmanstown, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Ephrata Community Hospital. She was the wife of William T. King, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage on this past March 19th. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late L. Lee and Gay Lindley. Janis had been a Licensed Practical Nurse, a career that she loved. Taking care of her patients personally was what was most fulfilling to her. Her career spanned 20 years, working at the former Community Hospital of Lancaster and for local private practice physicians. She loved to read and was a collector of books, Norman Rockwell figurines, and Thomas Kinkade plates. In addition to her husband, Janis is survived by her sons: Christopher L. married to Ann King of Lumberton, NJ, Jeffrey S. married to Janet King of East Petersburg, Kelly King of New York City, NY, and J. Mitchell King of Lititz; her 5 grandchildren Melissa, Kyle, Aaron, Kimberly, and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her brother James. Friends will be received by Janis' family on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA from 130-230PM with the Memorial Service to follow at 230PM.
