Janet Wood, 72, of Lancaster, passed away on May 31, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Robert & Anna (Brennan) VanCoillie. Janet retired as a nurse's aid from Women & Babies Hospital. She sang in the choir at Historic St. Mary's Catholic Church. Janet was an avid reader and loved spending time with family and her many friends. Surviving are 3 children: Debbie Salazar, wife of Kenny, Tony Cruz, husband of Jenny, and Anna Ramos, wife of Freddy; 12 grandchildren: Kenny, Anthony, Richard, Maria, Julia, Amber, Michael, Abigail, Angliee, Melissa, Helena and Taya; 2 great-grandchildren: Mason & Courtland; and a sister, Phyllis Turner. Janet is preceded in death by a son, Robert Cruz; sisters, Rosemary & Mary Lou; and a brother, Robert. A visitation will take place from 6-9 PM on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602 with the Recitation of The Holy Rosary at 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Historic St. Mary's Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603. Janet will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Janet's memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
