Janet E. Sherts, 89, formerly of 291 Tennyson Drive, Lancaster, PA entered into rest at Conestoga View on January 24, 2011 with her family by her side.

She was the wife of the late Robert N. Sherts who died July 15, 2007. They were married for 65 years.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Sterbach Lichty. She was a 1939 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. Janet was a floral designer employed by Fries Flower Shop, Weaver's Flower Shop and the Boutonniere Shoppe.

Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening and cooking.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Janet is survived by her daughters: Barbara M. married to Richard L. Gunning Jr., Lancaster, Judith A. married to Ronald W. Savage, Ronks, Kathe E. married to Ronald A. Weaver, Lititz, nine grandchildren: Melissa, Susan, Erin, Amy, Bill, Robby, Maddie, Samantha, Ronnie and eleven great grandchildren: Logan, Nathan, Braydon, Addison, Caroline, Sarah, Daniel, Emily, Megan, Colin, Johan and a brother, Albert F. Lichty, Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Bernard, Irvin and two sisters: Mary Jane and Helen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00AM with Msgr. Richard Youtz as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. There will be a viewing at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA., on Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM.
