Janet R. Benner, 93, of Wilmington, DE, and formerly of 25 S. Cornell Ave., Lancaster, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011 at her residence.

She was the wife of the late Henry C. Benner, who passed away in 2002. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late David and Carrie Myers.

Janet had been a homemaker, enjoyed walking, reading, and needlepoint. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren, a true highlight of her life.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lancaster.

Janet is survived by her two sons: Larry D. Benner of Port Charlotte, FL, and Paul H. married to Eva P. Benner of New Castle, DE and her 5 granddaughters Erin Benner, Megan Benner, Laura married to Brandon Burritt, Angela Benner, and Jessica Benner. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Beatrice Martin and Frances Sneath.
