Obituary

Jane (Boyles) Emery passed away at her home on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the age of 102. Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian Boyles.

After graduating from Scranton Technical School, Jane held many secretarial positions, including at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Manheim, the Mount Joy Public Library, and Fulton Bank in downtown Lancaster where she reached the level of Executive Secretary. Outside of work, Jane had a love for words and word puzzles, making sure to complete the daily LNP and New York Times crosswords. She put together many 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles and played games such as Scrabble and Yahtzee! with her family often. She was a reader, and a skilled pianist and organist. She also loved Christmas, the color blue, and the many cats she had throughout her life. She was strong in her Episcopal faith, attending both Saint Paul's Manheim and later Saint Luke's Mount Joy. She particularly enjoyed Psalm 118:24.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Sue and Karen Emery. She is preceded in passing by her siblings, Robert and Eleanor Boyles.

Services will be kept private at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank everyone that kept Jane in their thoughts and prayers, and to those who extended their help in her final days.

To honor Jane's memory, contributions may be made to The Extraordinary Give in Lancaster at extragive.org , or to a local Church of your choice.
