James L. Sten, 74, of 346 Banyan Circle Dr., Lancaster, went to be with The Lord on Wednesday, October 15 ^th .

He was the husband of the late Norma L. Foster Sten, who passed away in 2005. Born in Renovo, PA, he was the son of the late Leroy and Mary Elizabeth McGuire Sten.

Jim had worked as an electrician for the Emtrol Co. of Lancaster for 31 years, until his retirement in 1991.

He was a US Air Force veteran, serving in the 1950s.

An active member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, he was a member of the choir, served on the building and property committees, and on church council. Jim was also active with the Lancaster County Bible Church life group, bowled in church leagues, served as a Cub Scout leader, and was a member of the Rohrerstown Lions Club.

He is survived by his son, Rick  married to Linda J. Sten of Lancaster, his daughter Kim M. married to Gary L. Neideigh of Mount Joy, his 4 grandchildren: Matthew, Joseph, Danielle, and Erika; his sister Patricia Miller of Lancaster and his stepsister Arlene Eisenhart of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a sister Helen Claire.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 9-10AM at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Rd., Lancaster, PA 17602, with the funeral service to follow at 10AM, the Revs. Mark Russell and Cliff Eshbach officiating.
