James R. Sanchez, 82, of Millersville, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Born in Denver, CO, he was the son of the late Santiago and Maxine (Jenkins) Sanchez, growing up in Deer Trail, CO. Jim was the loving husband of Frances (Jones) Sanchez, with whom he celebrated many wonderful years of marriage.

Jim was a 1964 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. A Vietnam veteran, Jim proudly served as 1st Lieutenant in the Army Ordnance Corp.

Jim was the proprietor of Sanchez & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors, served on the Millersville Borough Zoning Hearing Board, and served as a civil engineer to his community for over 50 years.

A longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church, Jim enjoyed traveling to Israel with his friends from church.

A devoted father, Jim is survived by his two daughters: Amanda Sanchez and Meri (Sanchez) Hatzivasilis, wife of Dimitri, both of Lancaster. He is also survived by their mother and former wife, Carol Sanchez. Surviving also are Frances' children, Bob Jones, husband of Betty, Cheryl (Jones), wife of Philip Henkel, Jarett Jones, and Mark Jones, husband of Tammy; and grandchildren, Andrea, Cody, and Austin.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Jim from 10-11AM, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at St. James Episcopal Church, 119 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Funeral Services will follow at the church at 11AM. Jim will be laid to rest in private graveside services at Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory may be made to St. James Episcopal Church at the address above.
