IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James N.
Robinson
March 16, 2023
James N. Robinson, 92, passed into the presence of the Lord on March 16, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James and Martha Anna (Walther) Robinson. James was the loving husband of 58 years to the late Kathleen Mae (Reamer) Robinson, who passed away in 2009. Together they had 2 daughters, Kathleen (Doug) Olson of Lebanon, PA, and Nancy (Jay) Swieringa of Fairport, NY, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Evans.
James proudly served in the US Navy on board the aircraft carrier, USS Hornet, for several years. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1955, he went on to work for the former Bell Telephone, now Verizon, retiring as a foreman after 30 years.
In his retirement, James found great joy in many activities. A handyman, he enjoyed tinkering around with things. He was an embodiment for the saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure", taking and repairing discarded lawnmowers or air conditioners, donating them to people in need. James also loved crossword puzzles, working in his woodshop, and model railroads. He was best known for his joke-telling and making people laugh. A devout Christian, James was a faithful member of the Grace Church at Willow Valley since 1995.
A graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 10:30AM, where James and wife, Kathleen, will be laid to rest together. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Grace Church at Willow Valley.
