James Wilson Privette, 77, of Lititz, PA, passed away on June 23, 2014 at Lancashire Hall Nursing Facility. James was the husband of Jo Ann (Myers) Privette for 53 years. Born in Statesville, NC, he was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Blanche (Norris) Privette, and one sister, Nancy Kennedy.
A resident of Lancaster since 1973, James worked for the mobile home manufacturing community including Liberty Homes of Leola and retiring from Fleetwood Homes of Elizabethtown. James was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, canning, working in his yard and spending time in the mountains. He loved family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As a veteran of the U.S. Army, James spent his duty on the DMZ line between North and South Korea, after the conflict.
Besides his wife, James is survived by his son, James Dean Privette and wife, Svetlana, of Coppers Cove, TX, and a daughter, Jennifer Fessler and husband, Edwin, of Lancaster. James was the proud grandfather of 6 and the great-grandfather of 10. He is also survived by two brothers, Leon Privette of Lindsay, CA and Thomas Privette of Mulberry, NC.
A viewing will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Conestoga Memorial Park. Please OMIT flowers.
