James D. Neimer, 77, passed away at his Lancaster TWP home on Saturday, June 25, 2016. He was born in Lancaster to the late James H. and Aileen (Duane) Neimer. Jim was the loving husband of Jo-Anne (Hahn) Neimer for 55 years.

He served in the PA National Guard and then in law enforcement for 47 years. Jim was a very kind and loving man to his family. He enjoyed saltwater fishing at Ocean City, MD.

Surviving Jim in addition to his wife Jo-Anne, are their son, James J. Neimer, husband of Rebecca (Newhart) of Lancaster, their daughter, Ann, wife of Cliff Fromm of Lancaster, and their grandchildren, Katherine Neimer of Willow Street and Joshua Fromm, husband of Elizabeth of Lancaster. His brother John L. Neimer, husband of Joanne of Mechanicsburg also survives.

Jim's family will greet friends from 10 to 11 AM, followed by the memorial service at 11 AM with Chaplain Terry Longacre, F.O.P. officiating, on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. The Lancaster City Police Honor Guard and Mounted Unit will accord honors at the funeral home. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster City Police Mounted Unit, PO Box 10171, Lancaster, PA 17605.
