James R. McManus, Jr. , "Mick",died October 3, 2017, at Moravian Manor in Lititz, where he was a recent resident. He was born on October 21, 1925, at home in the "Cabbage Hill" area of Lancaster City to James R. and Mary (Fisher) McManus. Mick graduated early from LCHS to enlist in the US Army Air Corps in 1943. While stationed at Scott Field in Bellville, Illinois, he married Leanore A. Cuzzuculi in the Base's flight area chapel. They celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on July 29, 2017. Upon his discharge, the couple returned to Lancaster where they shared their lives together. After attending Franklin and Marshall College, he was employed in sales and retired from Sears as a division manager. Mick was an enthusiastic Eagles and Penn State football fan. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children James R. McManus, III (LaRue), of Lititz, PA; Kathleen A. Waltman (Lewis), of Lancaster; grandsons Matthew Rice (Kendra) and Michael E. Waltman (Anne Marie) and great-grandsons Benjamin and Devin Rice. Friends will be received on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA, from 10-11AM, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
