James L Landis, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. In June, he celebrated 68 years of marriage with his beloved wife Dorothy L. (Stehman) Landis.

Born in Manheim Township, Jim was the son of the late Elmer B. and Mary (Lefever) Landis. He graduated from Manheim Township High School and was a farmer most of his life. During his "retirement" years, he was owner of Amish County Furniture.

Jim was an active member of The Gideons and also served on the Conestoga Township board.

In addition to his wife Dottie, Jim's family includes their daughters, Deb Oberholtzer of Mount Joy, and Sandy, wife of Mel Hoffer of Mount Joy, and their son, Kevin Landis of Bethlehem, along with 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Merv Landis and sister Erla Rohrer.

A Celebration of Jim's Life will take place at 2 pm Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601. Jim's family will greet guests from 1 to 2 pm. Prior to this date, a private burial will take place at New Danville Mennonite Cemetery.
