James "Jim" Raymond Kirchner, 67, of Lancaster, passed away, Friday, May 1, 2009 at his residence following a long illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Frank X. and Serena A. Kirchner. Jim was the husband of Helen Kirchner, with whom he would have celebrated 43 years of marriage this past September 16.

Jim was owner and operator of Serena A. Kirchner Beer Distributor with his brothers and mother until his illness in 1995. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jim attended Lancaster Catholic High School. He and his wife enjoyed going to horse races and were in the thoroughbred business for over 20 years. Jim's favorite place to vacation was Sanibel Island.

Surviving in addition to his wife Helen is a son James Kirchner Jr. of Lancaster. And 2 brothers; Thomas and Andrew Kirchner both of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Eugene and Frank Kirchner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 440 Saint Joseph St, Lancaster 17603 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Hilbert as celebrant. Family and Friends will be received before the service at the church from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman Pa. Arrangements by Charles F.
