James D. Howe Sr. 78, of Lancaster, PA died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Essa Flory Hospice Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late James W. and Mary Smith Howe. James was married to the late Bernice Howe.

He was employed as a truck driver and enjoyed riding his motorcycle for pleasure. He was a member of the Amvets Post 19.

Surviving are his seven children: James D. Jr. husband of Sharon Howe, Lancaster, Eric J. husband of Adrienne Howe, Lancaster, Victoria A. Hoar, Marietta, Debra A. wife of Alan Cramer, New Providence, Karen Y. Gabriel companion of Paul Weaver, Lancaster, Rita J. wife of David R. Wanger, Lancaster, Robin L. wife of Jere Oster, Harrisburg, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and a brother, Robert husband of Laura Howe, Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Manny Jr.
