James J. Hoffman, 90, of Landisville, PA died Friday, June 6 at Lancaster General Hospital after an illness.

Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late James F. and Teresa (Vollman) Hoffman.  James was married for 54 years to Laura A. (Steele) Hoffman.

James was employed for 39 years at Lancaster Pump Co. retiring in l984 as Vice-President.  He was a veteran of WWII, in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a Tech. Sergeant with the 359 ^th Bombardment Squadron, 303 Bombardment Group serving in the European theatre of operations receiving 6 Bronze Service Stars.  James was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.  He enjoyed spending time at home.

James was the last of his immediate family with a nephew and a niece surviving besides his wife Laura.

Friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Rohrerstown, PA at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2008.  Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA.
