James (Jim) Ehret, 78, of Willow Street, PA died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 8, 1938 to the late Mary (Hoeffner) and Harold J. Ehret in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He graduated from Hanover Memorial High School in 1955 after which he served four years as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He married Maureen (Niemeyer) in May 1962. A year later, he moved to NJ and secured employment at Bristol Myers Squibb (formerly E.R. Squibb) from which he retired as a supervisor in 1999. In 2000, he and Maureen moved from NJ to their retirement home in Willow Street. He was a member of St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, daughter, Michele Fee and her husband Doug, Howell, NJ, son, Michael and his wife Judy (Riley), New Market, MD, daughter, Colleen married to David Lorelli, East Hempfield, PA, five grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda and Kathleen Fee and Grant and Conner Lorelli and a step-grandson, Eric Vaughn, his wife Kristen and their sons Noah and Asher. Also surviving is his sister, Mary Engle, Ashley, PA, a brother, Tom and his wife Maureen (Quigley) of Johnson City NY, sisters-in-law, Joann Rieger of Kingston, PA, Phyllis Niemeyer of Sea Girt NJ, and Marie Niemeyer of South Plainfield, NJ as well as twenty nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant son, his brother, Harold, sister-in-law, Sally, and brothers-in-law, Frank and Fred Niemeyer and Tom Engle. Jim was a loving husband and a great father and Pop. He loved his family and was proud of their many accomplishments. He enjoyed reading, watching the birds and gardening. Throughout the years he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of many sportsmen's clubs, most recently the Southern Lancaster Sportsmen's club. He loved fishing in Canada where he vacationed with family and friends for 39 years. He enjoyed traveling and trips to Las Vegas, Reno and Atlantic City. A viewing will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2017, with a viewing prior to the service from 10-11 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603. Jim will be laid to rest at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. In lieu of flowers, you can make contributions in his memory to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, P.O.
