Obituary

The passing of James 'Jamie' Edward Schlauch has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kind and adventurous spirit. Born in Lancaster, PA on November 21, 1970, Jamie was the son of the late Kenneth and Betty Schlauch. Jamie departed this life on March, 24, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Jamie was a dedicated employee at Arconic Mill Products, where he took pride in his work and formed lasting friendships with his colleagues. Outside of work, he had a passion for sports and was a loyal fan of his beloved Steelers. His patriotism and sense of duty led him to serve in the US Navy, and he continued to honor his country and community through his involvement with the American Legion Post 34.

When he wasn't working or rooting for his favorite team, Jamie loved spending time outdoors. Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies, and he also enjoyed cooking for his family, especially on Football Sundays and Holidays. He was always up for a little adventure, whether it was trying his luck at the casinos or exploring new foods, or going fishing.

Jamie's memory will live on through his loved ones, including his wife Omaira Rodriguez Schlauch, his sons Jonathan Edward Schlauch and James Edward Schlauch Jr., his step-sons Justin Santos (companion of Daughter in law Alyssa Cramer) and Joshua Marrero (companion of Dayshia Alston and step granddaughter daughter Pookie), and his siblings Lisa Messina, Kenneth Schlauch Jr., Jason Schlauch, and Richard Musser. His two beloved dogs, Mia and Milo, will also miss him dearly.

Jamie will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Lancaster at a later date. Celebration of life will be announced upon the family. Although he may be gone, Jamie's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his honor to the American Legion Post 34 or the American Cancer Society. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
