James H. Eckenrode, 78, of Lancaster, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in White Plains, NY, he was the son of the late Boyd and Helen Guerier Eckenrode. James was married 59 years to Angeline Madonna Eckenrode.

Jim served with the Marines during the Korean War.  He graduated from Penn State in 1957 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and worked for many years at Hamilton Watch Co., where he held a number of patents.

Jim was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of The GWRRA Chapter B.  He traveled extensively across America, Canada, and Switzerland.

Surviving besides his wife is a son, Stephen B. Eckenrode of Philadelphia, a brother, Harold Eckenrode and a sister, Marylee Geiter, both of Lancaster.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, Pa on Tuesday, Nov 18, 2008 at 2:00PM.
