Born on June 9, 1937, in West Willow, Pequea Twp. to James M. and Anna L. Bleecher; he truly embodied the values of hard work, integrity, and service throughout his life. He built a family he cherished and shared countless memories with his loving wife Arlene (Wartluft) Bleecher.

Jim graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1955. Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force, enlisting on September 12, 1955, and served until his honorable discharge on September 11, 1959, after serving in Okinawa, Japan. Church, serving on the church board for two decades and contributing to important initiatives such as the Habitat for Humanity fundraising efforts through Millersville churches, where he played an instrumental role in building two homes for those in need. Later, he continued his faith journey at Grace Community Church in Willow Street for more than ten years.

His philanthropic spirit transcended his church community. James volunteered with the Millersville Fire Company for 20 years and was a distinguished member of various local organizations. He dedicated over 50 years to the Charles M. Howell Masonic Lodge 496, including the Lodge of Perfection, the Lancaster County Shrine Club, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was also an active member of the American Legion, reflecting his unwavering commitment to service and community engagement.

James is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Bleecher; their daughters, Michele Calhoun, wife of Chuck Calhoun, Karen Bleecher Meck, wife of Todd Meck, and Beth Yerg, wife of Jason Yerg; his brother, Carl Bleecher, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
