James H. Bell, 88, of Mohnton, passed away at Reading Hospital on Friday, January 15, 2016. Born in Reading, James was the son of the late Harry C. and Esther M. (Bingaman) Bell. He was the loving husband of Pauline H. (Homan) Bell, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage.

James served in the US Air Force during World War II. He worked for Sears as a service technician until his retirement.

James was of the Christian faith and loved to read his Bible daily. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking pictures of nature and beautiful scenery. He also was a skilled woodworker.

In addition to his wife, Pauline, James is survived by several nieces and nephews and three sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Arlene Bivans and Earl Bell.

Memorial Services for James will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society of Berks County, 498 E Bellevue Ave Reading, PA 19605.
