James W. Bailey, Sr., 75, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry J. Bailey Sr., and the late Lorraine E. (Wright) Bailey. James retired from J.L. Clark Filter after 30 years of service. James was a giving individual who was there to help anyone in need. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. James was a devout catholic who was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Thome wife of Brian of Lititz; son, James Bailey, Jr., husband of Julie of Millsboro, DE; five grandchildren, Kayla, Amber, Dylan, Kristi, Kyle; six great-grandchildren; sister, Dolores Rubenstein of Bellview, NE; and sister-in-law, Loretta Bailey of Willow Street. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and John and his sister, Lorraine Sheldon. Family and friends will be received from 6-8PM on Sunday, March 17, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, contributions in James's memory may be made to Resurrection Catholic School, 521 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602.
