Jacqueline H. "Jackie" Sahrhage, 86, formerly of Morton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Homestead Village in Lancaster, PA. Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Bertha May (Dengel) Hechler. Jackie was the beloved wife of the late William F. Sahrhage, Jr. who passed in 2000.
Jackie graduated from Darby High School, where she played basketball and lettered in several other sports. Over the years she worked as an Office Manager for various manufacturing companies. She enjoyed taking college classes in psychology, golfing, and going to the casinos. She and her husband traveled throughout the United States to visit their children and grandchildren, and also went on several cruises. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jackie will be forever missed by her children, Leslie A. Byrd and her husband Bill of Bulverde, TX, William F. Sahrhage, III and his wife Donna of West Lampeter, PA, and Susan M. O'Connor of Ridley Park, PA. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Maybella F. Tiffany.
Interment will occur at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Edgewood Cemetery, 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM at Folcroft Union Church, 500 Primos Avenue, Folcroft, PA 19032, where the family will receive guests beginning at 11:30 AM. A luncheon will be served following the service. All are welcome to attend interment, memorial and lunch. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association at Alz.org.
